A few years ago, while working with Saginaw County Community Mental Health, I began to develop a my process. I used a questionnaire to gain insights into the needs of my client. Then I developed a plan tailored to that individual or situation. The implementation, and follow up helped so many individuals, I began to look at a broader context.
I have friends and family who pointed out organizations with personnel issues. These issues seemed to be derail the organization's effectiveness. Seeing this, I started to develop interviews for the leadership, middle managers, first line supervisors and workers.
What began as a "Maria, can you help with this?" is turning into a something which really transforms organizations and helps people.

My Story
I grew up in Saginaw, Michigan. My parents were active in social issues, social work and teaching. Other significant role models in my extended family included social workers, licensed therapists and others in community service. From an early age, I knew that I wanted to help, to make a difference in people's lives.
Social Work, is more than a career, it is a calling. I feel I have been called to make a difference, and I am proud to be doing that, each and every day.
